ἐξομηρ-εύω ,
A.bind by taking hostages, [τοὺς δούλους] ταῖς τεκνοποΐαις . bind slaves to one's service by the pledges of wives and children, Arist. Oec.1344b17, cf. Phld.Oec.p.33J.:—Med., “νήπιοι ψυχῆς φίλτρα -εύσασθαι δυνάμενα στρατηγὸν πρὸς πατρίδαOnos.1.12; also, produce by hostages,φιλίανStr.6.4.2; bind to oneself, D.S.27.7; win over, SIG 656.21 (Abdera, ii B.
