A.wipe off from,ἐκ δ᾽ ὄμορξον στόματος πέλανονE.Or.219:—Med., wipe off from, purge away a pollution, νασμοῖσι with water, Id.Hipp.653; αἷμα ἐξομόρξασθαι πέπλοις wipe off blood on your garments, Id.HF1399, cf. El.502.
II. metaph., ἐξομόρξασθαί τινι μωρίαν wipe off one's folly on another, i.e. give him part of it, Id.Ba.344, parodied by Ar.Ach.843.
