A.dance away, hop off, “αὐταῖς πέδαις” D.22.68.
II. c. acc. cogn., ἐ. ῥυθμόν dance out a figure, go through it, Philostr.Im. 2.12; “ἀσελγήματα” Suid. s.v. Ἀστυάνασσα.
III. c. acc. rei, dance out, i.e. let out, betray, ἐ. τὰ ἀπόρρητα, prob. of some dance which burlesqued those ceremonies, Luc.Salt.15; “τὰ μυστήρια” Id.Pisc.33, Alciphr.3.72, Ach.Tat.4.8, Anon.Oxy.411.25; “ἐξαγγέλλεις αὐτὰ καὶ ἐ. παρὰ καιρόν” Arr.Epict.3.21.16.
2. ἐ. τινά disgrace him by one's conduct, Plu.Art.22; “πολιτείαν” Id.2.1127b; and ἐ. τὴν ἀλήθειαν scorn it, ib.867b; ἐ. τοὺς Σαλαμινίους 'dance out of their graves', Philostr.VA4.21.
3. πόλεμον dance away, i.e. lose, Ael. NA16.23.
4. celebrate with dances, “ἱερωσύνην” Hdn.5.5.3.
