ἐφόδ-ιον , τό, mostly in pl. ἐφόδια , Ion. ἐπόδια , τά (v. infr.), for travelling, money and provisions, esp. of an army, ἐπόδια δοῦναι, λαβεῖν, Hdt.4.203, 6.70; “δι᾽ ἀπορίαν ἐφοδίων τοῖς στρατευομένοιςD.3.20; of an ambassador's travelling-allowance, “ἐφόδι᾽ οὐκ ἔχωAr.Ach.53, cf.
