ἐφυβρ-ίζω ,
A.insult over one, “ἐφυβρίζων ἕλετο” Il.9.368: c. dat., S. Aj.1385: c.acc., “τὴν ἀμαθίαν ὑμῶν” Plu.2.579c, cf. APl.1.4 (also Med., “μὴ 'φυβρίζεσθαι νεκρούς” E.Ph.1663): with neut. Adj., “πολλὰ ἐ. τινά” Id.Heracl.947; “τὰ δεινὰ πόλει” Id.Ph. 179; “εἰς ἀδελφὸν οἷ᾽ ἐφύβρισας” Id.Andr.624; ἐφύβριζον ἄλλα τε καὶ εἰ . . they gave vent to insulting language, asking especially whether . . , Th.6.63.
