ἐγκλίνω [ι_], fut. -κλι^νῶ: pf.
A.ἐγκέκλι^καPlu.Sull.1: pf. Pass. ἐγκέκλι^μαι (v. infr.):—bend in or inwards, “τὴν κνήμηνArist.Mech.857b36; bend, “τινάA.R.1.62 (v.l. ἀγκλῖναι):—Pass., “σκέλη ἐγκεκλιμένα μικρόνX.Cyn.5.30; τὰ ἐγκλιθέντα v.l. for ἐκκλ- in Hp.Art.38.
2. cause to incline, “τι εἰς δεξιάPl.R.436e; “τὰ πράγματά τισιArist.Oec. 1348b3:—Med., . εἰς τὰ δεξιά lean to the right, Id.Phgn.813a17.
3. Pass., lean on, X.Smp.3.13: metaph., πόνος ὔμμι ἐγκέκλιται labour lies upon you, Il.6.78.
4. . νῶτόν τινι turn one's back towards another, E.Hec.739.
5. Pass., give way, “ὑπείκει καὶ θέλων ἐγκλίνεταιId.Fr.431.5.
6. Gramm., pronounce as an enclitic, A.D.Synt. 120.10; pronounce with the grave accent, Trypho ap.eund.Conj.255.16:—Pass., A.D.Pron.35.26.
b. ἐγκλινόμενα, τά, inflected forms, opp. ὀρθά, D.H.Comp.5, cf. A.D.Synt.30.11 (s.v.l.).
