A.“ι^ῶ” X.Oec.8.10: pf. “ἐγκεχείρικα” Plu.Phoc.34:—put into one's hands, entrust, τί τινι or τινά τινι, Hdt.5.92.γ', Th.2.67, etc.; “τὰς ἀρχὰς ἐ. τινί” Hdt.5.72, cf. Arist.Pol.1305a16, prob. in Thphr.Char.30.15; “ἐ. τινί τὴν φυλακήν” Arist.Pol.1306a22; “ἐ. ἐμαυτὸν τῇ ἀτυχίᾳ” Antipho 2.4.1, etc.:—Pass., to be entrusted, τινί to one, Plb.5.44.1; “τὴν ἐγχειρισθεῖσαν ἑαυτῷ πίστιν” IG22.1028.72; “ἡ -ισθεῖσά τινι χρεία” PFlor.2.9 (iii A.D.); but ἐγχειρίζεσθαί τι to be entrusted with a thing, Luc.
