ἐκ-πλύνω [υ_], fut. -
A.πλυ^νῶIG7.3073.87 (Lebad.):—wash out, esp. wash out colours from cloths, “ἵνα..μὴ αὐτῶν ἐκπλύναι τὴν βαφήνPl.R. 430a ; ἐκπλύναντας τὴν οἰσπώτην having washed out the grease and dirt, Ar.Lys.575 :—Pass., τὰ δὲ ζῷα οὐκ ἐκπλύνεσθαι the pattern is not washed out, Hdt.1.203.
II. wash out, i.e. wash thoroughly,ὄναιο μέντἂν εἴ τις ἐκπλύνειέ σεAr.Pl.1062; “τὸν σαπέρδηνId.Fr.686; “ἔντεραSIG1025.35 (Cos); τὰ γράμματα IGl.c. :—Med., Hdt.4.73.
