A.ἐκτείνω, βραχίοναςTheoc.25.270:—Hom. has this form only, in the sense to stretch out (on the ground), lay low,ἐξετάνυσσ᾽ ἐπὶ γαίῃIl.17.58:—Pass., lie outstretched, δ᾽ ὕπτιος ἐξετανύσθη7.271; ἐξετανύσθη ἄμπελος it spread out all ways, h.Bacch.38.
3. extend,ἐξετάνυσσας ὁδόνEpigr.Gr.1078.4 (Cilicia).— For S.OC1562, v. ἐξανύω.—Poet. word, used by Hp.Fract.43. [υ^ usu., but υ_ Anacreont.35.5 (s.v.l.).]
