Orib.7.23.28, or (in med. form) “-ίσομαιAntip.Stoic.3.256: pf. -πεπόδισμαι (v. infr.): (ἐν, πούς):—put the feet in bonds: hence, put in bonds, fetler, τοὺςμάντιαςHdt.4.69:—Pass., ἐμπεποδισμένος τοὺς πόδας ib.60; [ὀλιγοδρα^νίᾳ] ἐμπεπ. A.Pr.550(lyr.).

III. dub. in “κέχηνεν ὥσπερ ἐμποδίζων ἰσχάδαςAr.Eq.755; prob. playing bob-fig, i.e. catching figs dangled by the stalk (πούς); Sch. and Lexx. also expl. as stringing, chewing, or trampling figs.
