A.hold or keep fast within, χόλον ἐνέχειν τινί harbour a grudge against one, Hdt.1.118, 6.119 (v. 11.2).
II. Pass., with fut. and aor. Med. (v. infr.), to be held, caught, entangled in, c. dat., “τῇ πάγῃId.2.121.“β́; ἐνεχομένων τῶν πελτῶν τοῖς σταυροῖςX.An.7.4.17; “ἐν τοῖς τῆς νεὼς σκεύεσιPl.La.183e.
3. to be liable or subject to,οὐ δικαίοις Ζεὺς ἐνέξεται λόγοιςA.Supp.169 (Pors. for ἐνεύξεται, lyr.), cf.And.1.44; πράγμασιν, λειτουργίαις, BGU473.7 (ii A.D.), PFlor.382.31 (iii A.D.), etc.
