A.crying, shouting, as of birds, “Τρῶες μὲν κλαγγῇ τ᾽ ἐνοπῇ τ᾽ ἴσαν, ὄρνιθες ὥςIl.3.2; esp. war-cry, battle-shout,μάχη ἐνοπή τε12.35, 16.246, etc. (hence, battle, AP6.163 (Mel.)); also, cry of sorrow, “ἐνοπήν τε γόον τεIl.24.160; wild cry,ἐν Φρυγίαισι βοαῖς ἐνοπαῖσί τεE.Ba.159 (lyr.).
