ἐνορκ-ίζομαι , Med.,
A.make one swear, “ἐ. τινὶ ποιεῖν τι” IG12(5).697.4 (Syros); ἐ. τινὶ ὅρκον ib.9(1).643 (Cephallenia), cf. J.AJ8.15.4 (v.l. ἐνωρκήσατο):—later in Act., “ἐνορκίζω ὑμᾶς τὸν κύριον ἀναγνωσθῆναι τὴν ἐπιστολήν” 1 Ep.Thess.5.27; “ἐ. ὑμῖν τὸν βασιλέα τῶν δαιμόνων” Tab. Defix.Aud. 26.15 (Cyprus, iii A. D.).
