A.of, belonging to or used in burial, “κόσμοι” D.H.2.67.
II. as Subst.,
1. ἐντάφιον, τό, shroud, winding-sheet, AP 11.125; “ἐ. δὲ τοιοῦτον οὔτ᾽ εὐρὼς οὔτε . . ἀμαυρώσει χρόνος” Simon.4.4; “καλὸν ἐ. ἡ τυραννίς” Isoc.6.45; “κάλλιστον ἐ. ἕξουσι τὸν ὑπὲρ τῆς πατρίδος θάνατον” Plb.15.10.3; “ὁ πλοῦτος δ᾽ οὐκἐμὸν ἐ.” AP9.294 (Antiphil.).
