A.brought in, “ὕδατα” Hp. Aër.9; esp. brought in from abroad, imported, “ἐ. σῖτος” Th.6.20; “πάντων ἐπακτῶν δεῖσθαι” Id.7.28; acquired, “τῇ Ἑλλάδι πενίη μὲν . . σύντροφός ἐστι, ἀρετὴ δὲ ἐ.” Hdt.7.102; “ὕδωρ εἴτ᾽ ἐ. εἴτε συμφυές” Arist.Mete.382b11, cf.
