ἐπίρρυ^τος , ον, (ἐπιρρέω)
A.running, “ὕδατα” Thphr.CP3.8.3, HP5.9.5; of food, infused into the body, τροφῆς νάματα ἐ. Pl.Ti.80d; of sight, infused from the sun, Id.R.508b; “ψυχαί” Ti.Locr.99e; ἡδοναὶ δι᾽ “αἰσθήσεων ἐπίρρυτοι” Max. Tyr.31.7; ἐ. δύναμις, opp. σύμφυτος, Gal.1.319.
2.. metaph., overflowing, abundant, “καρπός” A.Eu.907.
II.. Pass., flowed into, subject to influx, opp. ἀπόρρυτος, Pl.Ti.43a.
2.. overflowed, moist, “πεδίον” X.An.1.2.22.
III.. as Subst., perh. oilvessel or pipe, “ἀλείψασαν δρακτοῖς καὶ ἐπιρύτοις” JRS16.90, cf. OGI479.10 note. ἐπιρρυ^φέω , Ion. for -ρροφέω (q.v.).
