b.. of a physician, administer, “ὅσων τῷ κάμνοντι δεῖPh.1.253; give afterwards, τροφὴνπροδόντες ἐπιδιδόασι τὸν ἐλλέβορονDsc.4.148.
b.. esp. contribute as a `benevolence', for the purpose of supplying state necessities, opp. εἰσφέρειν (which was compulsory), Is.5.37; ἐκ τῶν ἰδίων . Din.1.80; “τριήρη ἐπέδωκενD.21.160; “ἐπέδωκα τὰ χρήματαId.18.113; “τὸ κοινὸν ἐπέδωκε τῷ θεῷSIG 489.9 (Delph., iii B.C.); but also,

II.. Med., take as one's witness, θεοὺς ἐπιδώμεθα `give each other our gods', Il.22.254:—in Il.10.463, Aristarch. read σὲ γὰρ πρώτην . . ἐπιδωσόμεθ᾽, perh. in the same sense, though Apollon. and Scholl. explain it by δώροις τιμήσομεν: cf. περιδίδωμι.
