ἐπιγιγνώσκω , Ion. and laterἐπιγενν-γι_νώσκω ,
A.look upon, witness, observe, “ἵνα πάντες ἐπιγνώωσι . . μαρναμένους” Od.18.30; “τινὰ ὀργιζόμενον” X. Cyr.8.1.33, cf. S.Aj.18: rarely c. gen., Pi.P.4.279.
II.. recognize, “αἴ κέ μ᾽ ἐπιγνώῃ” Od.24.217; ὅπως μήτηρ σε μὴ 'πιγνώσεται φαιδρῷ προσώπῳ by thy glad face, S.El.1296, cf. Pl.Tht.192e (v.l.).
2.. of things, find out, discover, “ἔργον” A.Ag.1598, cf.
