ἐπιρρίπτ-ω (
A.“ἐπι^ρίπτω” AP5.128 (Autom.)), cast at, “ὅτε μοι χαλκήρεα δοῦρα Τρῶες ἐπέρριψαν” Od.5.310; διώκων ἐ. ἑαυτόν throws himself upon his prey, Arist.HA629b20; Βρούτῳ τὴν αὑτοῦ φοινικίδα ἐ. Plu.Ant.22; χεῖρα ἐ., Lat. manum injecit, AP9.84 (Antiphan.): metaph., “ἐ. πλάνας τινί” A.Pr.738; ψευδεῖς αἰτίας ἐ.
