A.urge on, further or promote an object, opp. ἀποσπεύδω, Hdt.7.18; “. τὸ δρᾶνS.El.467; “τὴν στρατείανIsoc.4.138, etc.; of persons, urge on, hasten, X.HG5.1.33; “ὁδίτανTheoc. 16.93: metaph., οἷς (attracted for οὓς μὴ φύσις ἐπέσπευσεν whom Nature has not matured quickly, Pl.Lg.810b.
