A.rise, of stars, “Πληϊάδων.. ἐπιτελλομενάωνHes. Op.383 ; Ἀρκτοῦρος.. ἐπιτέλλεται ib.567 ; “ἠελίοιο νέον -ομένοιοh.Merc. 371 : so intr. in Act., Hp.Int.39, Democr.14, Arist.Mete.345b23, Plb. 9.15.9, etc. : the aor. part. ἐπιπλόμενος belongs as much to this verb as to ἐπιπέλομαι (q.v.).
2. metaph. of love, “ὡραῖος καὶ Ἔρως ἐπιτέλλεταιThgn.1275. (Hence ἐπιπολή and (later) ἐπιτολή.
