Archyt.I, Ptol.Alm.8.4 : hence, the season of a star's appearance in the heavens, Hp.Aër.2, Thphr.CP2.19.4, etc.; “ἈρκτούρουTh. 2.78 (pl.); “ΚυνόςArist.HA602a26 ; “τῆς ΠλειάδοςPlb.4.37.2 ; later of the sun or moon, App.BC5.90, Philostr.VA6.4 (pl.), Artem.1.3 (pl.):—as explained by Gem.13.3, .=rising (ἀνατολή) of a star as the sun rises or sets (. ἀληθινή, ἑῴα ἑσπερία), or just before sunrise or after sunset (. φαινομένη).
2. rising of the wind, Palaeph. 17 (pl., s.v.l.) ; rise or source of a river, or perh.=“ἐπιπολή1.1, dub.l.in GDI 5075.52 (Latos).
