Pass. —The place of the pres. εἴρω (q. v.) is supplied by φημί, λέγω or ἀγορεύω ; εἶπον serves as aor. (ϝερε- : ϝρη-, cf. ῥήτρα, ῥητός, Lat. verbum, Engl. word.)
