εἴρη (A), ἡ, (εἴρω 'speak') old Ion.,
A.= ἀγορά or ἐκκλησία, a place of assembly, “εἰράων προπάροιθε καθήμενοι” Il.18.531 (cf. Sch. ad loc. and EM483.3); “ἐπιμίσγεται . . εἴρας ἐς ἀθανάτων” Hes.Th.804 (Herm. for εἰρέας): expld. by Hsch. as = ἐρώτησις, φήμη, κληδών (also written ἰρά, ἱρά, by Gramm., cf. Apollon.Lex., EM475.12, Suid.).
