II. Act., of a wind, favourably blowing, fair, opp. δυσαής, Hdt.2.117, E.Hel.1504 (lyr.); ἀνέμων εὐαέσσιν ῥοθίοις prob. in E.Fr.773.36 (lyr.): metaph., favourable, Ὕπνε . . , εὐαὲς ἡμῖν ἔλθοις [with α^] S.Ph.828 (lyr., s.v.l.).
