εὐήθ-εια , poet. also εὐηθία , Ion. -ιη, ἡ,
A.goodness of heart, guilelessness, generally in ironical sense, πάνυ γενναίαν εὐ. Pl.R.348c, cf. D. 24.52, Com.Adesp.773; δἰ εὐηθίην by his good nature, Hdt.3.139.
2. in bad sense, simplicity, silliness, “ἐς τοσοῦτο εὐηθίης ἀνήκει τοῦτο” Id.7.16.γ́, cf. 1.60; “κουφόνους εὐηθία” A.Pr.385; “ἀνωφελὴς εὐηθίᾳ . . γυνή” E.Hipp.639; “πολλῆς -είας, ὅστις οἴεται” Th.3.45; -“ειάν τινος καταγιγνώσκειν” Lys. 26.2.
