εὐκτικός , ή, όν, (εὐκτός)
A.expressing a wish, in Gramm., “ἐπίρρημα” A.D.Synt.248.6, cf. Ph.1.541: -κή, ἡ (with or without ἔγκλισις), the optative mood, A.D.Synt.245.27, D.T.638.7, etc. Adv. -κῶς in the optative, Suid. s.v. ἀγαπῴην.
2. expressing a prayer or vow: -κόν, τό, utterance in the form of a prayer or wish, Stoic.2.61 (pl.); εὐ. ὕμνοι Men.Rh.p.333 S.: so -κά, τά, Procl.Chr.ap.Phot.Bibl.p.320 B.; but, liturgy, Philostr. V A6.40, S.E.M.8.72. Adv. -κῶς in the form of a prayer, Theon Prog.5.
