εὐμένεια , ἡ, poet. εὐμελ-ία Pi.P.12.4:—
A.goodwill, favour, “ἡμῖν . . παρὰ τῶν θεῶν . . εὐ. εἴη” Hdt.2.45, cf. S.OC631, E.Hel.313, X.Ap.7, Pl. Smp.197d, etc.; ἡ πρὸς τὸ θεῖον εὐ. the favour of the gods (v. πρός) Th.5.105; “ἡ συναντωμένη τισὶν εὐ. παρὰ τοῦ δαιμονίον” SIG601.14 (Teos, ii B.C.); ἐπ᾽ εὐμενείᾳ to gain favour, Luc.Tox.1; σὺν εὐμενίᾳ kindly, Pi.l.c.
