A.swear truly, take a true oath, opp. ἐπιορκέω, Gorg.Fr. 15 D., Isoc.1.23, Iamb.VP28.144, etc.; keep one's oath when taken, Lexap.And.1.98; τινι to one, Th.5.30; [τὴν ψυχήν] by one's soul, E.Or.1517 (troch.); “εὐορκοῦντες κρίνεινX.HG1.7.25.
II. Act., keep one's oath by, τινας Sch. A.R. 2.259:—Pass., “ θεὸς εὐορκεῖτοCall.Aet.3.1.42.
