φάσις (B) [α^], εως, ἡ: (φημί):
I. utterance, expression, Arist. Int.16b27, 17a17.
II. statement, proposition, comprehending both κατάφασις and ἀπόφασις (affirmation and denial), these being αἱ ἀντικείμεναι φ., ib.21b18, Metaph. 1011b14, 1062a6; “ἀναπόδεικτοι φ.” Id.EN1143b12: opp. ζήτησις, ib.1142b14.
2. = κατάφασις, affirmation, opp. ἀπόφασις, Pl.Sph.263e, Arist.APr.51b20, 62a14, Metaph. 1008a9.
