II. after Hom., heal or relieve by medicine, Pl.Lg.933b, A.R.4.1512.

2. enchant or bewitch by potions or philtres, A.R.3.478, 4.61 (and in Med., Id.3.859): bewitch by flattery, Pl.Smp.194a, Men.80a:—Pass., “οἱ πεφαρμαγμένοιHp.Morb.Sacr.1; “πεφάρμαχθεAr.Th.534: metaph., of a lamp, “φαρμασσομένη χρίματος . . παρηγορίαιςA.Ag.94 (anap.).
