φοίνιος , α, ον, also ος, ον Pi.I.4(3).35(53):—poet.Adj., used for φόνιος, when the first syll. is to be long,

II. bloody, blood-stained, φ. ἀλκά, of Ajax, Pi.l.c.; φ. ξυνωρίς, prob. of public and private loss, A.Ag.643; “χεὶρ φ.S.Aj.772; “χεῖρεςId.OT466 (lyr.); κοπίς prob. for κόνις in Id.Ant. 601 (lyr.).
