γεγωνός , όν, Adj. (from part. γεγωνώς, as ἀραρός, όν, from ἀραρώς)
A.loud-sounding, sonorous, “πέμπει γεγωνὰ . . ἔπηA.Th.443; “ὄντα δ᾽ ἄφωνα βοὴν ἵστησι γεγωνόνAntiph.196.2; loud of voice, “ἀνήρAP7.428.15 (Mel.): in later Prose, “φωνήD.H.8.56, Ph.1.348, Corn.ND 16; “λόγοςPh.1.95, al.; “οὐ λόγῳ γ. ἀλλὰ τῇ ψυχῇ ἐκτείνασιν ἑαυτοὺς εἰς εὐχήνPlot.5.1.6: Comp. “γεγωνότερος, κύκνωνAP9.92 (Antip.
