III. iambic poem, such as those of Callimachus, Str.8.3.30; esp. lampoon, mostly in pl., Pl.Lg.935e, Arist.Pol.1336b20; “ἐφ᾽ ὑβριστῆρας ἰάμβουςAP7.352 (Mel.(?)): also in Prose, οἱ καταλογάδην . Ath.10.445b.
b. of the persons lampooned, Luc.Pseudol. 2.
2. a kind of extempore play got up by αὐτοκάβδαλοι, who themselves had the same name, Semus 20. (For the termination perh. cf. διθύραμβος, θρίαμβος.)
