A.spread abroad, announce, κατεφάμιξεν καλεῖσθαί νιν Pi.l.c.; λίμνη Μαιῶτις, ἣν μητέρα . . τοῦ Πόντου κ. made it known as . . , Dion. Byz.2:—Pass., καταπεφήμισται it is rumoured, Plb.16.12.3; of persons, become notorious or infamous, Vett. Val. 118.5.
