A.recount, tell at length and in order, Hom., always in fut. or aor. 1, “ταῦτα μάλ᾽ ἀτρεκέως καταλέξωIl.10.413, al.; τόδε εἰπὲ καὶ ἀτρεκέως κατάλεξον ib.384, al.; “πᾶσαν ἀληθείην κατάλεξον24.407: freq. in Hdt., as 4.83, 114; ἑξῆς κ. Ath.13.610b; κ. τὰς προσηγορίας ib.c:—Pass., τούτων ὦν τῶν καταλεχθέντων of those which have been recounted, Hdt.4.50, cf. 23, al.:—Med., Ps.-Hdt.Vit.Hom.21: folld. by interrog. Adv., “κατάλεξον ὅπως ἤντησαςOd.17.44, 3.97; κεῖνον ὀϊζυρὸν κατάλεξον, που ἔτι ζώει . . tell me the tale of that unhappy man, 4.832.
b. reckon, count as, οὒς οἱ πολλοὶ πλουσίους κ. Pl.Lg.742e, cf. X.An.2.6.27: so perh. in Pass., “Χήρα -έσθω1 Ep.Ti.5.9.
c. conclude by enumeration, “ὡς . . Arist.Rh. Al.1429b35.
