A.vote by show of hands against, vote in condemnation of or so as to commit for trial, τινος D.21.2, Din.2.20, etc.: c.inf., “ἀδικεῖν Εὐάνδρου κατεχειροτόνησεν δῆμοςD.21.175, cf. 51.8; κατασειροτονηθὲν αὐτοῦ καὶ ταῦτ᾽ ἀσεβεῖν a vote of condemnation having been passed against him, and that for sacrilege, Id.21.199; κ. θάνατόν τινος vote the death-penalty against him, Lys.29.2, D.19.31, Pl.Ax. 368e; “καταχειροτονίαν κ. τινόςAeschin.3.52:—Pass., to be condemned, “πανδήμῳ φωνῇD.S.18.67, cf. Plu.Tim.23.
