A.door opening into the κλεισίον, street-door of a house, identified with the αὔλειος θύρα, Plu.Publ.20, Poll.4.125, 9.50: written κλεισίαι in Ael.Dion.Fr.231; “κλεισιάδες θύραι” D.H.5.39; = δίθυροι πύλαι, Moer.p.227 P.; but, inner door, opp. “αὔλειος, ἐν οἰκίαις αὔλειοι πρόκεινται κλεισιάδων” Ph.1.520; “οἴκοι καταμένειν καὶ μηδὲ τὰς κ. ὑπερβαίνειν” Id.2.82, cf. 4; οὐ μόνον τειχῶν ἐντὸς ἀλλὰ καὶ κλεισιάδων θαλαμευομένοις ἀποζῆν Id. ap. Eus.PE8.14: metaph., μεγάλαι κ. ἀναπεπτέαται . . τῷ Πέρσῃ a wide entrance, Hdt.9.9, cf. Plu.Alc.10, Aristid. Or.38(7).21.
