A.dog-quinsy, Arist.HA604a5, Ant.Lib. 23.2; cf. ὑάγχη: hence,
II. sore throat, Hp.VM19, Prog.23, Aph. 3.16 (all pl.), Porph.Abst.3.7: συνάγχη is a constant v.l., but Gal. distinguishes κυνάγχη as an inflammation of the larynx, συνάγχη of the interior muscles of the throat, παρασυνάγχη of the exterior muscles, 8.248,17(2).706.
