Theoc. l.c.: c. inf., μάστιξεν δ᾽ ἐλάαν whipped them on or forward, Il.5.366, Od.6.82, etc.: metaph., “ἵνα . . σε πολλοὶ μαστίξωσι λόγοιςEpigr.Gr. 303.5 (Smyrna).
