A.strong drink, καλῶς ἔχειν μέθης to be pretty well drunk, Hdt.5.20; “ὑπερπλησθεὶς μέθης” S.OT779; “μέθῃ βρεχθείς” E.El.326; “ἡ ἀπειρία τῆς μ.” Antipho 4.3.2; “ἐσφαλμένος ὑπὸ μέθης” Pl.R.396d; μανδραγόρᾳ ἢ μέθῃ συμποδίσαι τινά ib.488c; μ. εὐώδης παλαιός fragrant old wine, Hp.Epid.7.82.
