A.central position, “χώρας τε καὶ ἄστεος μεσότηταςPl.Lg. 746a, 746f.l. in Arist.Mir.846a18 (cf. Mu.399b34); also of Time, “τὸ νῦν ἐστι μ. τιςId.Ph.251b20; “Αἰών . . ἀρχὴν μ. τέλος οὐκ ἔχωνSIG1125.10 (i B.C./i A.D.).
II. Math., mean, Pl.Ti.32a, 43d (pl.), etc.; μ. ἀριθμητική, ἁρμονική, Arist.Fr.47; “γεωμετρουμένηPlu.2.1138d.
