μεταγιγνώσκω , Ion. and later Μεταγειτν-γι_νώσκω , fut. -γνώσομαι: aor. μετέγνων:—
A.find out after, i. e. too late, ἄταν . . μεταγνούς dub. in A. Supp.111 (lyr.).
2. c. acc. rei, change one's mind about, repent of, “μετέγνων καὶ τὰ πρόσθ᾽ εἰρημέναE.Med.64; μ. τὰ προδεδογμένα alter or repeal a previous decree, Th.3.40, cf. Luc.Ner.4.
b. c. dat. rei, “μ. τῷ φόνῳPhilostr.Ep.16.
3. c. inf., change one's mind so as to do something different, “τὸ παντότολμον φρονεῖν μετέγνωA.Ag.221 (lyr.); “ἐν δὲ τῇ ὑστεραίᾳ μετέγνωσαν Κερκυραίοις ξυμμαχίαν μὲν μὴ ποιήσασθαιTh.1.44; μ. ὡς . . change one's mind and think that . . , X.Cyr.5.5.40.
