2. more freq. c. dat. rei in part. agreeing with the dat. pers., μετεμέλησέ οἱ τὸν Ἑλλήσποντον μαστιγώσαντι it repented him of having scourged it, Hdt.7.54, cf. 1.130, 3.140, Antipho 5.91; οὔτε μοι μεταμέλει οὕτως ἀπολογησαμένῳ I do not regret having thus defended myself, Pl.Ap.38e; also μ. μοι ὅτι . . X.Cyr.5.3.6.
4. part. neut. μεταμέλον abs., since it repented him, “τῶν ἀνηλωμένων αὐτοῖς μ.Isoc. 18.60, cf. Pl.Phd.114a.
