A.counting trifles, careful about trifles; and so,
1. caring about petty expenses, penurious, D.59.36, Thphr. Char.10.1, Hyp.Fr.255, etc.; σὺ δὲ μ. ἄρ᾽ οὐ θέλων καινὰς πρίασθαι (sc. ἐμβάδας) Men.109.4.
2. cavilling about trifles, captious, “μ. καὶ μεμψίμοιρος” Isoc.12.8; “μ. καὶ μικρολύπους” Plu. 2.171b; petty, Pl.Smp.210d. Adv. -γως Plu.2.730b.
