ὅμορος , Ep. and Ion. ὅμουρος , ον,
A.having the same borders with, marching with, “τοῖσι Δωριεῦσι” Hdt.1.57 ; “τῇ Λιβύῃ” Id.2.65, etc.: abs., Aristeas Epic.3, Th.6.78 ; “χώρα ὅ.” D.2.1 ; ὅ. πόλεμος a war with neighbours, ib.21,18.241 ; τὰ ὅ. τῶν πόλεων the suburbs, LXX Nu.35.5.
2. metaph., bordering on, closely resembling, “ὅμοροι ὁ ἀνδρεῖος καὶ ὁ θρασύς” Arist.EE1232a25 ; “ὅμορος οὖσα τῇ αἰσθητῇ φύσει” Plot.4.8.7.
3. as Subst., ὅ. τινῶν their neighbours, Isoc.14.18, cf. Th.2.85 ; “οἱ ὅ.” neighbouring people, Id.1.15, etc.; κατὰ τὸ ὅ. διάφοροι because of their neighbourhood, Id.6.88.
