A.stretched out, . μελίαι pikes to be used for thrusting, Il.2.543 ; so ὀρεκτὸν δόρυ pike, opp. παλτόν (javelin), Str.10.1.12.
II. longed for, desired,τὸ .the object of appetency, Arist.de An.433a18, cf. EN1113a10, al. ; “τὸ . κινεῖ οὐ κινούμενον τῷ νοηθῆναι φαντασθῆναιId.de An.433b11 ; opp. ὀρεκτέος, Stoic.3.22.
