A.watch or keep the house, σηκὸν φυλάσσει . .οἰκουρῶν ὄφιςwatching, S.Ph.1328 ; πόλιν οἰ. guarding it, A.Ag.809 : generally, keep safe, guard, Ar.Ach.1060 ; keep watch in a temple, “ὅταν οἰκουρῶσι μύσταιArist.Ath.56.4.
II. keep at home, as women, S.OC343 ; “οἰ. ἔνδονPl.R.451d, cf. D.59.86, Plu.Cam.11, Luc.Nigr. 18 ; of persons who stay at home and avoid military service, Hermipp. 45, Plu.Per.11, 12, etc.
2. ἕβδομον οἰ. μῆνα πολιορκοῦντες idle away seven months in the siege, Id.Cam.28. (Impf. οἰκ- or ᾠκ- acc. to Choerob. in Theod.2.50 H.: 2sg. “οἰκούρειςLex.Mess.p.413.)
