A.“-ιοῦμαι” LXXLe.19.26 : aor. opt. “οἰωνίσαιτο” D.25.80 ; part. “-άμενος” Arist.Pol.1304a1 :—take omens from the flight and cries of birds, “οὐδὲν ἄλλο ἔτι -όμενοι” X.Cyr.1.6.1, cf. Plu.Rom.9.

2. c. acc., regard as an omen, οἰ. τι σύμπτωμα Arist.l.c., cf. Epin.2.3, Nic. Dam.66.13J., D.S.8.32, 17.49, Plu.2.825b ; ὃν οἰωνίσαιτ᾽ ἄν τις μᾶλλον ἰδὼν ἢ προσειπεῖν βούλοιτο whom one would rather shun as an ill omen if one saw him, than speak to, D.l.c., cf. Thphr.HP 8.6.2, Str.13.1.42.
