πάρεργος , ον, (ἔργον)
A.beside the main subject, subordinate, incidental, “ὁ λόγος π. ὤν” Pl.Ti.38d ; παρέργῳ τῇ ποιήσει καταχρήσασθαι treat it as a mere accessory, ib.21c ; ὅ τι μὴ π. Id.Phdr.274a, etc. ; “πάντα π. ποιησάμενος” PHib.1.44.5 (iii B. C.).
